Printing doesn't have to be…

repetition (detail)

I have never believed that printmaking has to be a medium about mechanical repetition, ever so concerned with how tight their editions are printers forget the guts of making art. In this piece from 2002 I printed 20 prints all from the same plates but on different papers and with different ink applications to create many different images all from the same foundation. This piece is also the first where I experimented with turning prints into objects.
